When given time and tools, all children will explore the materials in front of them while exploring their inner world at the same time.

There is nothing worse than when your child is in pain.

The moment you realize your child is struggling and needs someone to talk to can be both a relief and cause extreme anxiety. You know the basics of what they need, but not necessarily how to help them. Art therapy can be that how.

A Place to Be YOU

I strive to create a welcoming space for children of all ages. A place where they can get messy, explore art materials they may have never played with before and talk about whatever is present for them. Children are incredible at staying in the here-and-now. As adults, we tend to forget what it is like to be so present all of the time. But your child is in it, all the time. This can result in them feeling BIG feelings they don’t know how to handle. Art provides them the perfect opportunity to practice handling those big feelings.

Maybe your child struggles to manage their anger. What happens when the paint spills all over their project?

Maybe they struggle with anxiety. What happens when they are offered a blank page to create art?

Maybe they struggle with ADHD or other behavioral difficulties. What happens when they have an art project they are invested in completing?

All of this is working in the here-and-now, meeting your child exactly where they are at.

Free 30-minute consultations are offered either with only the child or with the child and their caregiver. Sessions are conducted in the typical 50-minute therapeutic approach, which differs from the coaching option offered to adults. Sessions cost $120. I do not accept insurance, but am happy to discuss sliding scale options.
